Our mentored fishing club 101 is for students wanting to learn/enjoy fishing and catch a lot of fish. Most fishing will be hook and bobber fishing for bluegills, with large mouth bass, catfish and striped bass also biting the hook.
In addition to fishing at Tyrrell Pond, we will learn the differences of the various poles, reels, lines, baits, knots and lures.
All students and families will be invited to join a trip to Lake Erie in July for a walleye and/or perch fishing charter on a 15 person head boat.
Most days will be catch and release. We will learn to fillet, scale and cook our catch one of the fishing days.
Fishing club 101 will meet the 3rd Thursday of each month. Due to the high demand for this club, we ask that students only sign up for one fishing club…101 or tournament.
