We will be offering 4 weeks of family fishing evenings beginning on Thursday, September 25th and will conclude on Thursday, October 16th. We will meet from 6 - 8pm.
Each week we will focus on a specific type of fish or fishing skill and will include some instruction and challenges, like most fish caught, and the family who wins will get a prize!
Families are welcome to come all 4 weeks or just a few weeks, whatever works best for your schedule. This year, we are requiring online registration for the weeks that you would like to participate.
Week 1 (9/25): Join us to learn how to filet a fish (if we catch enough fish, each family will have an opportunity to try this new skill out) and a fish fry! We will have samples of fish available to try. Plus time to fish with your family!
Week 2 (10/2): Join us to learn about catfishing tonight. We will have a few poles rigged up to catch these awesome (and huge) fish and each family will *hopefully* get a turn to reel in a big catch (as long as the catfish cooperate!).
Week 3 (10/9): Join us to learn how to make your own lure (and you get to take it home with you!). We will also have plenty of time for fishing.
Week 4 (10/16): Bait Experiment Night - join us to try out some different kinds of bait: hot dogs, shrimp, cheese, Swedish fish, dough balls and more! Use your creativity to experiment with multiple baits at once or just one at a time, and we will see which crazy bait works the best! In previous years, we have caught fish with shrimp, cheese, hot dogs and Swedish fish so we can’t wait to see what works this year!
These evenings are open to families who love to fish, who have never fished before, and everyone in between! Families are encouraged to bring their own equipment if they have it. We will provide bait (you do not need to bring your own) and fishing poles to those who do not have their own.
There are 4 different registration options representing each week of the program. Please register for the weeks your family would like to do. Please just register one member of your family, we will contact you to get a total number of family members who will be attending.
